Messages from our Wardens
A large portion of the masonic education this year and even the discussions that have occurred all revolve around the masonic journey and whether each of us as Masons is getting out of the lodge what we had hoped for when we first sought out masonry. If you do not think that you are, please donot hesitate to reach out to any of the principal officers, and we will be more than happy to help you on your masonic journey, all while improving the lodge to become what is best for all members. The officers of the lodge, led by our Worshipful Master, have already started to implement programs and ideas by requests from members of the lodge including more masonic education that expands a wide range of topics, creating a committee for setting up fun events to enhance camaraderie and brotherhood, starting work to build a better system of education for newly made masons, and new events to try such as the table lodge in June, all of which are to try and enhance the masonic experience for each Brother Mason. I encourage all who can attend to RSVP for Highlands Lodge #86's first annual table lodge being held on June 27th at Highlands Masonic Temple. For those unfamiliar with what atable lodge is, it is an evening filled with food, several symbolic/important toasts, and fun. This year's table lodge will be in honor of the Holy St. John's, with masonic educationprovided related to the Holy St. John's and held only 3 days after St.John's Day.
Brethren,
Whether you’re a new member or a seasoned Brother, the strength and vitality o four Lodge depend on participation. A Lodge is more than just a meeting place—it’s a community built on shared values, mutual respect, and a commitment to service. And like any community, it thrives when its members are active, engaged, and invested. When you show up—not just physically, but mentally and spiritually—you help shape the future of the Lodge. Your ideas, skills, and presence can inspire others and keep our traditions alive while adapting to the needs of today. From planning events to supporting charitable work, every small contribution helps us make a bigger impact both within our walls and in the greater community. Being involved strengthens the bonds of brotherhood. Working side-by-side with fellow members creates lasting relationships that go beyond ritual. You’ll find mentorship, camaraderie, and purpose. These connections are what transform a Lodge from an organization into a family. You don’t have to take on a leadership role right away to make a difference. Attend statedmeetings and special events, volunteer on a committee or project, support degree work or mentor anew member, offer your unique skills—whether it’s cooking, organizing, teaching, or tech support—or simply ask, “How can I help?”The health of our Lodge isn’t just about numbers—it’s about heart. And that heart beats strongestwhen every Brother takes part. So if you’ve been thinking about getting more involved, considerthis your call to action. Your Lodge needs you, and you might just find it’s exactly what you neededtoo
